Omega Five (Xbox 360)

Omega Five is a side scrolling shooter game that fits into the category of old school shoot em up games. The game is unique in it’s own way and can offer some serious amounts of high adrenaline excitement if you like the mode of trial and error play.

The game is addictive from the get go and the visuals keep drawing you in. There are four levels of play but are bursting full of energy, tasks, enemies and bosses. You play to earn a higher score each time and unlock some wonderful retro style looks for the game. The game is tough as compared to most side scrolling shoot outs. While you get help in between to knock out the difficult enemies, the game never once lags or becomes boring. There are challenge modes and online modes that will keep you busy after you are done with the single player mode and these are no easy matches either. The game suffers from certain drawbacks such as lack of weaponry and upgrades for the existing ones. The co – op is not present for the online play which comes as a disappointment.

But if you truly enjoy these side shooting challenges, the visuals as well as the soundtrack and presentation come together brilliantly. Add the difficulty curve and replay value and you have a terrific game on your hands.
